2009年的国庆假期我们一家三口和朋友一家相约自驾车行程几千公里分别游览了湖北宜昌的三峡大坝、湖南张家界风景区、湖南韶山毛主席故居、武汉的黄鹤楼以及长江大桥。由于路途之远、路况不熟，再加上导航仪的“胡导”，此番旅行虽然破费周折，但旅途中的一些小花絮却给我们增加了一些谈资和乐趣。
花絮之一：最“冤”的过路费
十月二日晚十点半我们到达了第一站湖北宜昌，一下告诉公路就在一“热心”的出租车护驾下入住到了离江边不远的一家酒店，安排好房间后经导游推荐决定去江边大排档吃夜宵。本打算打车过去，虽知在路边连等了三辆出租车都遭“拒载”(或许是看到我们四个大人带两个孩子的缘故吧)，无奈之下只好返回酒店开自个儿的车去。虽曾想到了夷陵长江大桥附近因为一念之差走了桥上导致刚过桥对面就遇到了收费站说是走过了，自觉地交了过路费后只好开车原路返回却被告知还得收费，郁闷的我们看到两个孩子上了桥后的兴奋样儿只好自嘲说权当交了“看江费”。
花絮之二：最优质的服务
游览完两峡一坝景区后的第二天一早我们开始赶往湖南张家界，由于导航仪的“胡导”我们又在高速公路上走了将近一个小时的冤路，正郁闷之时却遇到了高速公路宜昌收费站工作人员的最优质的服务：当我们向其索要当地公路图的时候毫不犹豫地送给了我们一张，看到我们把车停在收费站附近看地图的时候，另外一个收费窗口的工作人员得知我们问路后又热心地走到我们跟前详细地说明了路况。
花絮之三：最奇怪的搭车人
当车在湖南慈利县崎岖不平的道路上颠簸的时候，我们莫名其妙地被一辆警车跟上了，一位自称交警的人把我们拦下后先好心地交代司机路况不好慢点开，然后问我们是不是要到张家界，随后又说他表妹要去景区上班想搭便车。犹豫了一下之后我让女儿坐到腿上给她让了座位，结果刚走几分钟那女孩先是收到一手机短信回复了一下，而后又接了一个电话说她工作证忘表哥车上了她要回去拿，我们问问要不要等她却被告知不用了。
花絮之四：“奇人”与“奇说”
旅游的第三站我们到达了毛主席的故乡湖南韶山，一下高速又遇到了一位快人快语的“老江湖”热心地招待了我们一行被其称为来自包公府的客人：先是给我们安排了他自家的酒店而后又领我们去了一家毛氏餐馆吃毛主席他老人家最爱吃的红烧肉，第二天又热心地给我们介绍了一个小导游领我们去景点参观，奇怪的是我们后来每到一个景点都能看到他在充当不同的角色，从导游那儿得知他被当地人戏称为“雄总管”。
有关毛主席铜像有这样一件奇怪的传说：据说当年毛主席的铜像由12辆大卡车一路护送由南京运往湖南，途径江西的时候领头的那辆大卡车却莫名其妙地抛锚了，任凭师傅怎么修都修不好，后来由江西老表就说了：当年毛主席最先在江西建立革命根据地，这么多年了他老人家肯定想回来看看，不妨让他住一宿吧。结果第二天一早该卡车却又莫名其妙地不修自好了，一路又顺顺当当地直达韶山。更奇怪的是当地一施工队在施工的时候用绳子吊着毛主席铜像的脖子怎么吊也吊不上去，围观人群中一位上了年纪的老奶奶说话了:“真实大逆不道啊!怎么可以吊着毛主席的脖子呢！你们这样会遭报应的！”无奈之下又改用绳子吊着铜像的腰部一下子就吊了了上去。据说后来该施工队的负责人果然如老奶奶所言无论做什么生意都赔。
